The brand new 10-track album, in comparison to its predecessor, focuses on melodies and reduces music to a tangible and digestible size like never before. This is already evident in the first single 'Patterns', which is already available digiheighty. For the Norwegian band, it has always been about finding a balance between hard and soft, electric and acoustic, big and small, light and shadow... and now the time was right for a lighter touch, also to maintain the balance to the somewhat cumbersome and progressive previous album. 'Yay!' was produced by Reine Fiske and Lars Fredrik Swahn (Dungen, Melody's Echo Chamber) and their production work gives the album a sweet psychedelic note with an electrifying atmosphere, which sets it apart from the often somewhat traditional singer/songwriter genre, but still maintaining its intimacy. Even though the album is often inspired by the heroes of the late 60s and early 70s, there is still room for exploration for those listeners who have mostly heard the band's heavy progressive side.
